ZZZ 3.2 Claret Flint Guide | Electric Armorer DPS
Claret Flint is a new S-Rank Agent arriving in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2 and the game’s first Electric Armorer DPS.
Unlike traditional DPS units, Claret scales mainly with DEF, Sharp DMG, Gash, Maim, and multi-crit mechanics. ATK and CRIT DMG offer very little value, making her build completely different from standard damage dealers.
In short:
DEF is Claret’s main damage stat, while CRIT Rate determines her damage ceiling.
Claret is fully functional at M0, while her signature W-Engine and Mindscapes mainly improve stat requirements, rotations, and burst damage.
This guide covers her core mechanics, skill priority, W-Engines, Drive Discs, team comps, rotations, and Mindscape recommendations to help you build Claret efficiently.
1. Claret Flint Overview
Rarity: S-Rank
Attribute: Electric
Specialty: Armorer
Role: On-field sustained / burst DPS
Core Stats: DEF > CRIT Rate > PEN Ratio
Low-Value Stats: ATK, CRIT DMG
Claret is unique because her Sharp DMG scales mainly with DEF.
Do not build her like a standard Attack DPS. Prioritize:
DEF → CRIT Rate → PEN Ratio
CRIT Rate remains valuable above 100%, making it one of Claret’s best offensive stats.
2. Core Mechanics
1. Crimson Inscription | Main DPS State
Claret enters Crimson Inscription through her EX Special Attack, switching into her enhanced DPS state.
While active, her attacks are enhanced, CRIT performance improves, and Gash builds faster. This is her main damage window.
Core rotation:
Enter Crimson Inscription → build Gash → consume Gash to trigger Maim → continue bursting.
Her Ultimate helps extend the damage window, so avoid wasting Crimson Inscription uptime.
2. Gash & Maim | Main Burst Mechanic
Claret’s Sharp DMG builds Gash.
Gash can stack up to 3 times. Certain Special Attacks consume a Gash stack to trigger Maim.
Key tip:
You do not need to wait for 3 stacks every time.
Outside Stun windows, spend Gash as needed to avoid overcapping. During Stun, save more stacks for a stronger Maim burst.
3. Multi-CRIT | CRIT Rate Above 100%
One of the Armorer Specialty’s defining mechanics is multi-CRIT.
When Claret lands a CRIT, Sharp DMG uses Laceration DMG instead of regular CRIT DMG. CRIT Rate above 100% can trigger an additional Laceration check.
In simple terms:
100% CRIT Rate: consistent first Laceration check
150% CRIT Rate: extra chance for another Laceration check
200% CRIT Rate: maximizes the value of multi-CRIT
This is the biggest difference between Claret and a standard DPS:
CRIT Rate above 100% is not wasted.
Regular CRIT DMG has low value for her, so do not force a traditional double-CRIT build.
4. Counter Assist | Boss Mechanic Counter
Claret also has a useful Counter Assist.
Against certain boss control moves, swap to Claret at the right timing to counter and interrupt the mechanic.
This improves safety and, more importantly, cuts down boss downtime so you can keep dealing damage.
3. Build Recommendations
1. Best W-Engines
For Claret, prioritize W-Engines that provide:
DEF, CRIT Rate, and Sharp / Electric DMG bonuses.
ATK-focused W-Engines are low priority.
Claret does not require her signature W-Engine.
M0 Claret can run A-Rank Armorer W-Engines without losing her core rotation. Her signature mainly improves stats and makes endgame gearing easier.
2. Drive Discs & Stats
Claret’s Drive Disc build also focuses on DEF and CRIT Rate.
Recommended Set
Thorny Rose 4-Pc + Woodpecker Electro 2-Pc
This setup boosts DEF, CRIT Rate, and overall damage, making it a natural fit for Claret.
Main Stats
Disc 4: CRIT Rate
Disc 5: PEN Ratio / Electric DMG
Disc 6: DEF%
Substats
CRIT Rate > DEF% > PEN / DEF
Do not prioritize regular CRIT DMG.
Get enough DEF first, then push in-combat CRIT Rate as high as your gear allows.
4. Best Teams
Claret gets little value from standard ATK buffs. Prioritize teammates that offer:
PEN, DEF buffs, CRIT support, RES shred, fast Stun, or Armorer synergy.
If you do not have these Agents, use another Stun Agent + general support as a temporary setup.
The goal is not to force a mono-Electric team. Instead:
Stun enemies faster and give Claret useful DEF, PEN, or Armorer-related buffs.
5. Mindscape Recommendations
One of Claret’s biggest strengths is that M0 already has her full core kit.
You do not need Mindscapes just to make her work. M1 and M2 are mainly for smoother gameplay and higher damage.
If you plan to pull Claret, her signature W-Engine, or Roxy later in Version 3.2, check your Polychrome and Encrypted Master Tape count first. If you need extra pulls, [ZZZ Top Up] can help you top up in advance without disrupting your banner budget.
Conclusion
Claret is one of Version 3.2’s standout Agents and the first playable character to introduce the Armorer Specialty.
Her build is completely different from a traditional main DPS:
Skip ATK and regular CRIT DMG — focus on DEF and CRIT Rate.
Remember these four points:
Prioritize DEF and CRIT Rate; CRIT Rate above 100% still matters; do not always wait for 3 Gash stacks; burst Maim and multi-CRIT during Stun windows.
M0 already gives you the full gameplay loop. Most players can stop at the base copy and decide on further investment based on their Polychrome, W-Engine, and Roxy plans.
If you need more Polychrome or an Inter-Knot Membership, you can also check Keygold for a convenient Zenless Zone Zero top-up option and prepare for upcoming banners.
FAQ
Q1: Does Claret need CRIT DMG?
Not recommended. Claret’s Sharp DMG uses Laceration DMG for its critical damage calculation, so regular CRIT DMG is much less valuable than on a standard DPS.
Build priority: CRIT Rate > DEF > PEN.
Q2: Do I need 3 Gash stacks before triggering Maim?
No. Spend Gash early when needed to keep the rotation smooth. During Stun windows, save more stacks for a stronger Maim burst.
Q3: Why build more than 100% CRIT Rate on Claret?
Because Claret has a multi-CRIT mechanic.
CRIT Rate above 100% can still contribute to an additional Laceration check, so her CRIT scaling does not simply stop at 100%.
Q4: Is Claret’s signature W-Engine mandatory?
No. It mainly makes DEF/CRIT gearing easier and raises her damage ceiling.
Without it, you can still use Bloodmarrow Coffer or Catty Luck as solid Armorer alternatives.
