ZZZ 2.7 Preview Roundup: New Void Hunter-Level Character Details Revealed!

Brand-New S-Rank Character Reveals

The biggest highlight of Version 2.7 is without a doubt the debut of two new S-Rank Agents. Among them, Nangong Yu stands out as a key piece tied closely to the Void Hunter-related lineup, further completing the Angels of Delusion team while bringing both power and style to the table.

1. Nangong Yu

   
   As the captain and lead performer of the Angels of Delusion, Nangong Yu is an S-Rank Ether Stun Agent and the final missing piece of the faction’s lineup. For players building Anomaly-focused teams, she is easily one of the most anticipated characters in the patch. Her kit is built around efficiently triggering enemy disruption windows and building up “Heavy Beat,” which lets her unleash a powerful three-stage charged attack. Her Ultimate activates Ether Veil: Rhapsody of Delusion, boosting the entire team’s ATK and unlocking exclusive synergy effects when paired with other Angels of Delusion members. She will also receive a brand-new outfit, Rhapsody Muse, at launch, making her one of the most eye-catching additions of the patch.

2. Cissia

   
   Cissia is a special snake Thiren officer from the Public Security’s Urban Order Division, and she is positioned as an Electric Attack sub-DPS with excellent flexibility. Her kit features a unique “Toxin” mechanic that gradually depletes over time to deal Electric DMG while also increasing her CRIT Rate. Once Toxin is fully stacked, her basic attack, Serpent’s Kiss, can unleash impressive burst damage. She offers a strong balance of offense and utility, making her a solid fit in multiple team comps. On top of that, her contrast-heavy personality has already won over a lot of players: despite being a law enforcement officer, she is actually afraid of entering Hollows, which makes her surprisingly adorable.

Banner Schedule: Two New S-Ranks Plus Returning Favorites

Version 2.7 will be divided into two banner phases, with each phase lasting three weeks. Both phases include new character rate-ups, popular reruns, and their matching signature W-Engines, giving Proxies plenty to think about when planning their pulls.

Phase 1: March 24 to April 15
The first half features the new S-Rank Agent Nangong Yu and her signature W-Engine, Neon Delusion. At the same time, the S-Rank Agent Yidhaily will return alongside her signature W-Engine, Siren’s Cradle.

Phase 2: April 15 to May 5
The second half features the new S-Rank Agent Cissia and her signature W-Engine, Fangscale Pursuit. This phase will also bring back the S-Rank Agent Seed together with her signature W-Engine, Clockwork Heartseed.

New Events and Plenty of Rewards

Version 2.7 is not just about new Agents and banners. The update also brings a variety of fun events covering combat challenges, commissions, casual gameplay, and more. Even free-to-play players will have plenty of rewards to grab, and several gameplay optimizations are also on the way.

Main Event: Hollow Hero Tournament
This is the signature event of Version 2.7. Players will control their Agents through multiple rounds of competitive challenges, face off against rival factions, and gradually uncover the secrets behind the tournament. By completing event objectives, you can earn exclusive items, upgrade materials, and Polychrome.

Additional Events
Other featured content includes Hot Pursuit of Flavor, where players can obtain a free A-Rank W-Engine, Disaster Tide Special Squad with its dual-team buff relay combat format, the combat commission event Old Friends, New Commission!, the puzzle event Adventure Snapshot Frame, and the city exploration commission Take Action! Bad Review Buster. At the same time, Endless Battlefront: Raging Tide, the third season of the limited-time tower challenge, will also go live.

Version Rewards and Optimizations
During the update, players can claim 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons through cumulative login rewards. On top of that, the patch will improve stage settlement flow, add clearer mission progress tracking, and optimize the feel of certain character skills to make both combat and farming smoother. Two new Drive Disc sets will also be introduced, Snow Hare Dreamland for Defense-focused builds and Prisoner’s Notes, giving players more options for character progression.

The Version 2.7 preview did not stop at the immediate patch content. It also revealed multiple future teaser characters and laid even more groundwork for the direction of Version 3.0, giving players a lot to speculate about.

1. Promia
   Formerly a cleaner affiliated with the Sons of Calydon, Promia appears as a bat Thiren with a very striking design, including restrained hands that hint at some kind of dangerous wild power beneath the surface. As an associate of Yao, her backstory already looks full of mystery.

2. Vilina
   Vilina is a white-haired mature-looking woman who previously appeared in story comics. She belongs to the faction known as the Isle Far From Conflict, and her overall design feels very different from the usual New Eridu aesthetic. Many players now suspect she will play a major role in the Version 3.0 map expansion.

3. Nom
   Nom is an orange-haired young girl who also comes from the Isle Far From Conflict. With her blue-and-white outfit and oversized tall hat, she has already become an instant favorite for many players. Her role and combat specialty have not yet been revealed.

Beyond these new faces, the latest PV also hinted that the three TOPS executives, Lead Staff, Tin Crown, and Copper Ring, will once again take the stage together, each with their own agenda. At the same time, the Primordial Lord appears to be close to awakening, and the Void Hunters may soon be forced to confront a new crisis.
