How does deck building work?

A deck is exactly 20 cards, with a maximum of 2 copies of any card sharing the same name. Because the deck is so small, your odds of drawing the pieces you need are high — build decisively and cut anything that is not pulling its weight.

How is it different from the physical card game?

• A Basic Pokémon is guaranteed — you open with 5 cards and the game always includes at least one Basic Pokémon, so there are no mulligans and no reshuffles.
• No Energy cards — an Energy Zone instead — energy is generated automatically each turn and attached by hand, so Energy never takes up deck space. The player going first receives no energy on turn one, which keeps the second player competitive.
• Points replace Prize cards — knocking out a Pokémon earns points, ex Pokémon are worth 2, and the first Trainer to 3 points wins.
